Two Red Creatures and the Moon are hanging sculptures created by Tamar Ettun for Sally Silvers’ dance piece, “You Better.” This work, which premiered in March 2025, draws inspiration from Enheduanna, the world's first known author from ancient Mesopotamia. Through movement and a "girl crush" perspective, the piece explores themes of female power and continuity. Silvers contrasts historical figures with contemporary concepts, inviting audiences to reflect on how we coexist and interact in the present.
Two Red Creatures directly reference an ancient relief depicting Enheduanna, who composed poetry dedicated to the moon goddess, Nanna. The moon sculpture bears Enheduanna's name written in Sumerian. The sculptures, hanging in the air, constantly move in response to dancers’ movements.
