Body is Space
2005-ongoing
Body in Space is an ongoing photo series which I started in 2005. This series attempts to invert the relationship between sculpture and dance, as they reflect my thinking of the duality in temporality/permanence, life/death, movement/stillness. The body in the photographs is treated formally as a sculptural material, fragmented, covered, hid, or stretched with inanimate objects.Often, these still photographs come as part of a larger performative project.
Performers: The Moving Company, Mor Mendel, Jaeeun Lee (ice skates), Rebecca Pristoop, Sabrina Shapiro
